New Winetitles Directory Tracks Australia ProducersA new Australian wine producer opens for business every 72 hours, according to the recently published 19th annual Australian & New Zealand Wine Industry Directory.Last year the Australian wine industry showed a net gain of 121 wine producers, a 10 percent increase from 1999. The number of Australian wine producers listed in the Wine Industry Directory now stands at 1,318, up from 1,197 at the end of 1999. In the past 10 years, the Australian wine industry has seen an average net gain of about 70 wine producers per year.
