With consumers' growing interest in anything organic, coupled with the 2002 adoption of the National Organic Program, organic wine appears to be prospering as a segment. Though still small--24-square-feet of shelf space out of thousands at a local health food chain market, for instance--producers say the market is growing.However, the word "organic" means different things when it comes to wine. The confusing regulations and odd rules that the organic industry must follow mean that the difference between "organic wine" and wine that is "made from organically grown grapes," is quite miniscule.
