Dr. Walter Clore, the "Father of Washington's Wine Industry" passed away in a Yakima nursing home. He was 91. The news cast a somber mood over the annual meeting of the Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers. Al Hotchkin Jr., co-owner of The Burgundy Wine Company in New York City's Greenwich Village, passed away February 4th. He was a friend to many in the wine industry.Southcorp has requested and received the resignation of CEO Keith Lambert. Chairman Brian Finn is to assume Lambert's role until a successor is appointed. Jon Pageler joined Diageo Chateau Estates as vice president of public relations and external affairs, a newly created position reporting directly to Ray Chadwick, following Evan Goldstein's move to Allied Domecq.
