Jake Lorenzo was never a hippie, long hair notwithstanding. Active against the war, working to register minority voters and experimenting with alternative lifestyles all occupied my life, but “peace and love” was never my driving factor. Successful detectives require a more pugnacious nature. So, I considered myself a bohemian, living an unconventional lifestyle with an artistic sensibility.
