Jake Lorenzo, private eye, is busy. I sit in a chair on my porch, reading Michael Connelly’s The Black Echo, sipping a chilled 2015 Wittmann Trocken Riesling while listening to Tangle Eye’s CD, Alan Lomax’s Southern Journey Remixed. Oh yeah, and periodically I gaze at Jakelyn’s mother’s garden, which is preening with vibrant irises and Green Goddess lilies. To the untrained eye, this detective is doing four things simultaneously, but I am really focused on a single issue.
