Cellar Master - Full Time

Full time Cellar Master. Work and learn alongside our Winemaker Brandon Lapides, who has been making wine for Armida since 2010. We crush nearly 200 tons annually of seven different varietals, from thirteen different vineyards, grown in six separate appellations (mostly in Sonoma County). With our small team, you will be able to gain experience in nearly every facet of our winery.

• Forklift Experience
• Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
• Ability to work long, continuous days outside, during harvest and some special event weekends
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to take instruction and work independently for long periods
• 2+ years’ experience in the wine cellar setting
Daily Responsibilities:
• Forklifting of barrels for topping, filling, cleaning
• All wine movements; topping, racking, filtering
• Sanitation and cleanliness of wine tools, barrels, tanks, and equipment
• Cleanliness and organization of both barrel rooms and tank room
• Harvest; crushing, pressing, punch downs, weighing fruit
• Some chemical additions, including sulfur
• Acquiring wine samples from barrels and tanks
Other Responsibilities:
• Monthly maintenance on all Winery equipment such as pumps, glycol system, forklifts
• Unloading trucks: bottling supplies, barrels, packing materials
• Purchasing of gas, chemicals, and necessary supplies for winemaking
• Help with set-up and breakdown of special events
• Pressure washing: crush pad, wine equipment, and barrel rooms
