PURPOSE OF ROLE

The House of Flowers Guest Service & Reception Host is responsible for guest service duties at the reception of the Visitor Center. This role will also assist with overall guest service and support tasks, as needed. Responsibilities can also include order entry, inventory management, on site shipping needs, and supporting the Visitor Center with various duties. This role works closely with the Hosts and management team.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES.

Core competencies

The scope of responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

Reception and Guest Services
• Be the first impression that our guests receive when visiting House of Flowers. Greet warmly with a smile.
• Responsible for checking guests in upon arrival via Tock reservation platform
• walking guests to their tables, providing a brief history of the estates and the wines, providing introductory information about the experience
• Communicating with hosts consistently and regularly via Teams messaging about any relevant guest or seating information
• Research and resolve assigned guest and member issues with grace and efficiency

Administrative
• Printing and formatting menus for service and events
• various duties assigned by Managers
• Responsible for checking in delivered inventory, and for general organization of the warehouse

Sales
• Responsible for packing and fulfilling all orders from guests and members
• Selling to walk-up guests via POS and CRM platform
• Packing and fulfilling club shipments, responsible for tracking club pick-ups.

Hospitality

• Occasionally supporting hosts with tables
• Occasionally supporting with bussing and BOH duties


Core Responsibilities and Key Traits

• Basic knowledge of inventory management and guest service
• A background in administration or accounting is a plus

• Ability to complete repetitive tasks with consistency and adherence to systems

• Ability to function independently after being given the appropriate direction
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate guest needs and react appropriately
• Fast learner of new systems, logical and adaptable

"edge:

• Proficient with PC software such as Word, Excel, with the desire and ability to learn more sophisticated programs and systems
• Comfort in using web-based systems such as eCellars
• Strong knowledge of web browsers and the internet
• Working knowledge of office machines
• Experience at reception of restaurant, hotel or winery is a plus

• Physical - Ability to lift and carry up to (40 Lbs)
